This week is maths week, so we are completing a series of maths challenges in our first challenge we learnt about famous mathematicians.

My opinion for our program

The Step Up Programme was fantastic! Over the three days the campers were gone, it was AMAZING to see how many of us could work with other people they have never worked before or haven't worked together in a while. The chance we were given to step up was a great thing to go through as a team together. And the moments we communicated made it more easier for our team. 

I feel like one thing we need to work on to improve is the cup stacking game is because when people go up they feel like they're going to get run down by others who are in their team and they don't feel comfortable going up because they might be too scared and their feelings will be hurt I guess...

Our stepping up program

 While the year 8’s were in camp, Miss Ilaoa planned a stepping up program for us while the yr 8’s were gone. There were three groups and my group was called “Duck life” the other 2 were called “Strikers” and “Thunder”. The leaders for my group were Oalii and Simon. 

My highlight was when we did the cookie challenge with Miss Ilaoa. That meant that we had to put the cookie on our forehead and we had to try to get it into our mouth without touching it. 1 Strategy that we used was moving our faces to get it to move down into our mouths.

This was really funny because the people who went and did it had really funny facial expressions and that made everyone wanna have a go.
