The mansion house

Mansion House on Kawau Island was originally
\the residence for the mine superintendent on
the island. In 1862 the island and home were
purchased by Sir George Grey, one of
New Zealand’s most influential and
controversial political figures.

Kawau Island was purchased by Sir George Grey in 1862.
He spent a fortune developing Kawau as his island home
with many exotic and native species. He also converted
the former residence of the mine superintendent into his
home.

Known today as Mansion House, it has been in public
ownership since 1967 and was extensively restored to its
former appearance in 1977-80 after many years of neglect.
It has been furnished with a valuable collection of antique
furnishings largely donated or loaned to DOC, and is open
to the public.

Mansion House Valley

The Mansion House gardens and immediate reserve/lawn
area are known as the Mansion House Valley.

Sir George Grey was an enthusiastic collector of plants
and animals in the tradition of wealthy Victorian gentlemen.
He planted hundreds of different trees and plants in
Mansion House Valley, developed orchards and a 13-acre
olive grove, introduced many exotic and native animal
species, and planted the slopes with conifers to create
a setting for his house and gardens.

The pines and other exotic tree species, peacocks,
weka's and wallabies seen in Mansion House Valley
today are all legacies of Sir George Grey.

Banking issues

This is the task that we had to do this week it is about banking and taking money out in notes and coins and pay dates.

Hula-hoop recount

What: hula-hoop challenge

When:wednesday 16th october

Where: hard court outside our class.

First we lined up outside and listened to the instructions,
next we headed to the hard court and we held hands and
got in a circle. When we were all settled miss parrant gave us
a purple hula-hoop to go around, so what we did was put our
feet in first then head and pass it to the next person, or it could
go head first then feet in. After we warmed up we split up in
two groups of girls and boys. Well obviously the boys went first
and they thought they won but they got a penalty from my
teacher. Then the girls went and we won fair in square but the
boys got a bit jealous and called us losers but we didn’t mind,
because at the end of the day, they are just a bunch of losers
when they mock the winners but it was just a game and we all
had fun.

This is our reading task for the week, our book is called "Six", it's about friends who started school together and became best friends, Hannah is the main character in this story. Chelsey was Hannah's first best friend, they went to each-other's birthday three years in a row. All of the friends names are Chelsey, Emi, amber and of course Hannah

Hi and this is explaining about the life of how planktons survive the tough times and even their normal life,

My book for this term.

So this is the book i have been reading since week 5, it has 1-113 pages to read but altogether is 1-138 pages available in the book, 1-18 chapters to go through. This story is about a creature named gorgo who is sick with a woman/vampire/mouse, who looks after him. And it turns out that he was
hiding something, he was hiding a love letter and he had pretend that he was sick so they can go out and find something while he s with that mystery monster.

Fortunately: These girls were having a nice quiet chat on the room 8 class mat. 

 Unfortunately: Lee came and interrupted our conversation and started copying us.

Fortunately: me and Mele waited for a bit, then once the time came we started teasing him by copying
his moves  and he started to get sick of the pay back he got coming back at him. 

Unfortunately: He just grabbed three boys and sat up so he got more attention from Miss Parrant.

Thank you for looking at how i would spend my money on for my family and friends if there was any special occasion, and i would try and make it fun for each and one of us, so that leaves them with an amazing time during this day on. Can you see these company's this is actually not even a quarter for even three country's. so this leaves you to think of what you want to be when you grow up or you may even be a person who delivers the mail? or a dentist, i have always wanted to be a dentist since i was six years old. now i will leave you some time to think now. So this is my reading task 1. This is what we do every time we read our books with our teacher, when we are done these task we finish off work that hasn't been finished, my work is mostly finished because i pick n easy thing to do then go up higher with my reading in the mornings.

Amazon Rainforest

Hi we are professor’s samantha and rosario , i am going to explore the
amazon
forest in brazil located in south america, my things i have in my bag is dry ice
and
some liquid i will test on the snakes, my other equipments are pots, filters,
cups,
toilettree, food and knives.

Rosario story: I was stuck in the jungle full with creatures and trees and all other kinds,
it all started while i was walking in the wood then i heard something then i followed the sound
of it then once i stop to the sound was it stopped then I was thinking “i’m i just going crazy?” then i
notice that i was lost so i try to found my way out.

AFTER ONE HOUR OF BEING IN THE FOREST

So after walking around looking terrified of what is going to happen to me i keep thinking
that i’m going to be okay. But i was carrying a bag with me that i pack when i was going to the forest
so what i had in my bag was a water bottle just in case i’m might get thirsty then next is that i have toilet
paper, foods, and other stuff you’ll be needing. Once so i took out my water bottle and my food and start
eating because I was hungry, AFTER 20 MINUTES EATING. Then i once heard a trap so I wonder
what was there, I walked until I saw the trap and saw a girl i ask her what was her name and she
said, “Hi I’m Samantha what’s your name?” then I replied “Oh Hi yes my name is Rosario do you need
a hand?”. And Samantha said “yes please” So I helped out with her with the traps and all the stuff  that
we need to do. So after a while of setting up the traps and the other stuff to catch any creatures like a
snake, alligators and a lot of those other stuff. Once so we need to build our house that we need to sleep but there was no other thing’s but just wood but don’t know how to cut it up. So we just lay in our bags and use the Leaves

Samantha’s story: So i am up in a tree, i am grabbing my rope so i can make a trap,
once i trap the anaconda snake i will add my dry ice to it, then i will put the freezing liquid on it
then i will cut the skin and take it back to the country i came from off the plane.

AT THE AIRPORT IN MY COUNTRY

We got picked up from a family member in a van that was big enough that people thought
i was a bus, when we were traveling back to our studio i had left my liquid there, but i didn’t
worry as i had spears back at the studio so we carried on driving, once we got to the studio we
made some wallpapers to decorate our plain wall, all of us professors were sick of looking at
white walls, especially when it’s a professor studio. I think professor’s never have white walls,
it’s just too plain to work with when we are studying, never mind about the walls, and we all
worked happily ever after.

		I don’t know how to draw this but they have this special celebration i think every-night? But it looks fun, to do with everyone.

Today we did a Friday activity and we did coding, hour of code. Our teacher told us to take a screenshot of our certificate and post it on my blog. So I hope you enjoy the rest of my posts.

Today we planned something for this term, and it is... My animation planning. So we know what to do in our animation and where our setting is based on.

This week my class and I did a task containing us explaining about our duffy books from term 1. As you can see the instructions on the first page, this will tell you exactly what we are doing on this task of duffy books. New question (Do you have duffy books at your school?)

My Term 1-animation about better together

This term we did a animation about better together, sometimes you don't need anyone to help you put stuff in the right place, sometimes it's alright to ask for help. But this girl has cleaned the court full of rubbish by herself. So this is an example for when you see rubbish having a great time chilling in the sun, but it as meant to be in the rubbish, only certain fruit goes on the ground.

Today my class and I did a task to help us write and tell us what commas mean, and even full stop.

we draw a Medium sized Square in the middle of the paper and then a triangle on the Top of Square and then to Two windows and then a flag on top of the triangle and two trees next to the square And then we had to draw birds and the sun and some little goldfish in a pond And then it looked like a house.

My identity

This week we made our own slide that we had to name 'identity' and we had to gather up our stuff we do in our life and what we have in common with our friends and family and we can add some other slides of what you like.

If we got caught in a fire we would travel from a plane to another country but the airplane blew up and
landed on sand and grass, me and my three friends were scared because we didn’t know where we
were. We first explored the whole island, and finally found a place to camp out, but the place we have
chosen was right in front of the area we started with so we quickly got set up because we are tired,
we saw an television so we decided to watch something then we got a clue on the show to get the house for
free so we all said ‘yes we want this home there is no one that can bother us’ so we stayed at the island
to keep safe and stay safe, we finally set off with our stuff we needed to go looking for some clues.
We found one clue, two clues, three and the last one four clues, we felt great about ourselves and
thought we wouldn’t have to call anyone and just in-case someone is spying on us through the phone
well basically listening to us. We tried to make it our best time in a island of our own. My four friends
were called Sauma, Patience, Victoria and Latisha. Hey wait i just saw a turtle a mother one and a young
one and there is a fish that looks like nemo and dory i wonder if a staff of the aquarium has dropped
one of their tanks or let them out.

Last week my class and i had done this activity for camp because we had camp the week before and finished on Friday.

Planning Space: My special thing to do with my friends was at the school picnic last year (2018)

Title: My special feature with my friends so far.

Start Writing Here:Last year we had a school picnic in term 4 and we had a half of week left which only
had 2 days and the last day was a half of a day and we had the picnic on friday too. When we got to the
reserve we had a talk on what the rules were that if it isn’t our turn to have a swim if you packed your
togs and a towel you would have to stay where you eat, we were eating in front of  tree with lots of
shade and since under the tree was cold we had our kitchen well made a kitchen under and our bags
on some of the branches from the tree and it kept our drinks and stuff cold, that was an great idea for
us because it was so hot that day from now on i am taking a blanket and two or three bottles of drinks
it’s cause we stay there for the whole day. When it was team 3’s turn to swim we were dancing to the
music to get our energy to swim so we don’t drown or so. After team 3 it was team 4’s turn and i was
excited to enter the water, we were lucky we put on sunscreen on in the first place. After it was our turn
it was time for team 5 to go and swim and while they were swimming me and Julia went under the
shower with our uniform on, it was time to do that. As we got to the end of the day we did a singing
challenge and my friends Victoria and Tahliyah went as partners and they were singing ‘this is me’
from the greatest showman. They sounded wonderful, As my friends was going on their 5th turn to
go and sing my sister and I had to go home and my friends thought i was lying so I said ‘no i am not
lying’ so we gave each other  big huddle and said bye……………. The end of my sentence.

the three wishes

If you met a genie that could give you 3
wishes what would u as for-and why?
So my three wishes would be to live in a
mansion with 300 bedrooms that can fit
all my friends and my family. My  second one
would be to have a unlimited filler freezer
that can fit ice blocks and ice-cream.
My last wish would be more wishes.
The reason why i would want a mansion
to fit everyone i know properly in the mansion
is so we can all meet together and we could
think that we are all in one family.
The reason why i want my second
is so if i do get a mansion i could share
as much ice-cream as possible.
The reason why i want my last wish
is so everyone gets a wish.
